Pinnacle Women’s Club Organizations of Influence Nominees

The Pinnacle Women’s Club Charitable Foundation will host their second annual Gala on Saturday, March 1, 2025. This year the special event will award an Organization of Influence in Henderson/Kaufman Counties that make a significant charitable impact on the residents of the Cedar Creek Lake and surrounding area.

Eleven organizations were nominated by the citizens around the Cedar Creek Lake area. A selection committee will meet to determine four finalists before choosing the recipient of the coveted title, PWC Organization of Influence at the Gala on March 1, 2025

Below are the eleven organizations nominated with a brief description of each:

The Cedar Creek Lake Garden Club was formed in 1975 and provides many opportunities to learn the art and love of gardening and nature. Miss Fran’s Teaching Garden and the Cedars and Cinnamon Home Tour are just a few of their philanthropic and fundraising efforts.

Faith in Action Outreach’s mission is to meet the physical needs of the poor and underprivileged citizens of the area. They host a food pantry, clothes closet, and blessings room, and many other ways while using all as an avenue to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Family Resource Center strives to provide individuals and families in the area the resources needed to live healthy, productive lives. The Christmas Angel Tree Program, school supply assistance, and monthly hygiene closet along with the Community Shower Bus are just a few ways they serve the community.

Friends of the Animals opened in 2002 with the mission to offer affordable spay/neuter surgeries to low-income families.  They also offer low-cost vaccinations and other surgeries. Their veterinarian and 56 volunteers cooperate to make the organization a success as well as a much-needed service in the CCL area.

The Gun Barrel City Beautification Committee was formed in 2008 with the goal of enhancing, restoring beauty to GBC including community improvement, cleanliness, and maintenance. They also partner with other businesses to hold several recycling and shredding events to the greater CCL area throughout the year.

The Library at Cedar Creek Lake began as a bookmobile in the 1970’s and is now housed in Seven Points. The library serves as a resource center providing library materials educational support, and a point of access for computer/electronic devices.

Mabank Area Good Samaritans (MAGS) was formed 37 years ago as an avenue to serve healthy food to needy families 5 days per week and 2 evenings a month, as well as preparing and delivering boxes of food to those unable to travel to the pick-up location. They build connections with their patrons, striving to make a difference in their lives.

The Parrot Club at Cedar Creek Lake just celebrated their 25th anniversary, with over 600 members in their organization. They raise money through social events, including the annual Poker Run and donate to over 60 charities each year. “Party with a Purpose” is their motto for their philanthropic efforts.

REACH at Cedar Creek Lake’s mission is to empower individuals, support families, and build community through the formation of activities centered around children and families. They provide healing art workshops, parent support workshops, education advocacy, animal advocacy initiatives, and a drug-free coalition. Forming Girl Scout troops, holding maker space workshops and other summer learning programs are just a few ways they impact the CCL area.

Rotary Club of Cedar Creek Lake serves the CCL area in multiple ways with financial means and by providing volunteers for the libraries, TVCC, food banks, and working with students through educational and exchange programs. Their attention to community influence, leadership, commitment, dedication, and collaboration speaks to their outstanding example.

The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Sarah Maples Chapter, was formed 40 years ago and has the mission of historic preservation, education, and patriotism. Chapter volunteers are assigned over 1,980 hours of service through the year and often exceeds this goal.

The selection committee consisting of two PWC members and three community leaders looks forward to choosing one of these worthy organization nominees as The 2025 PWC Organization of Influence. The four finalists will be introduced at the event and the PWC Organization of Influence winner will be awarded that evening.
